edit 2: added weapon deploy sounds (recycled from original half-life), check the file on the post.

edit 3: since i couldn't stop myself from tweaking everything to perfection, i'm re-releasing this pack with some edits.
CHANGELOG:
-crossbow scope now optional, disabled by default
-completely rewritten particles_manifest.txt to work with the episodes
-added weapon deploy sounds by default and edited games_sounds_weapons.txt appropriately
-changed some deploy sounds to different ones from the prior standalone release
-updated the credits to include a "maps" and "scripts" section
-spent two hours attempting to learn hammer and make an item demonstration map so that i would feel less guilty about releasing this
-optional oicw model replacement for the ar2 included
-and probably some other stuff that i've forgotten about by now

edit 5: re-uploading the pack because of some file placement errors, the smg1 textures look awful, and because the crossbow scope is very intrusive.
CHANGELOG:
-moved "airbot" "crow" and "humans" to "materials/models" so that they'll actually appear in-game (thanks to Maestro Fénix for pointing this out)
-removed smg1 skin by default because its ugly, textures were moved to "materials/models/weapons/backup_smg1"
-removed crossbow scope by default, can be re-enabled by replacing "scripts/weapon_crossbow.txt" with "scripts/weapons_crossbow_old.txt"
-edited "item_demo.bsp" to include most items. old version was renamed "item_demo_old.bsp" and a new version was made called "item_demo_old_updated.bsp" which is the old map with the new item placements

i only packaged them into one folder. there's some pretty rad stuff here that i thought was worth sharing, and as someone on the discord said its one click away from having to start collecting it again. please read the credits.txt if you want to find the original authors!

alright, let's get to it.

this is 2 gigabytes worth of brand new models and textures for half-life 2. it may not seem like much at first glance, but once you start comparing them with the vanilla assets you'll notice the difference. for example, take a look at the vanilla w_357:

notice how its just original half-life's w_357 but with a new texture. now take a peek at the model below. notice the difference? other great examples of this would be w_rocket_launcher and w_physcannon, but i don't want to fill this post with more images than it already has. there's also some other really rad stuff here, like the ar2's textures and w_ model, w_stunbaton, and the h.e.v. arms in particular. anyways, i hope you guys like this stuff as much as i do. if i got anything wrong in the credits.txt please tell me and i'll fix it as soon as i can. now here's some stuff to look at:

i really like this (http://www.half-lifecreations.com/forums/index.php?topic=2206.0) model, but there's no p_ and w_ models for it. i would really appreciate it if someone could make them. that'd be really great. as a final request for this model, the hands i would liked rigged on it would be sc 5.0 hands, redslug's ld hev hands, default gearbox opfor hands, and default gearbox barney hands. thanks!

edit: since this is a lot to ask for and i didn't really say this because i didn't feel the need to, but looking back on it i do need to say that if you only do one of these things i'd still be fine. of course you don't have to do any of them but if you decide to take on this request even doing just one thing will be great.

edit 2: i don't really want different animations anymore because i'm fine living with the ones already on it, so i removed it from the post.

gonna bump this based on the description of the latest release saying that its the final release of this. seems neat, also comes with source code and a new model viewer (but that's separate download.) some other good source ports for quake (2) are quakespasm for quake (http://quakespasm.sourceforge.net/) and q2pro for quake 2 (http://skuller.net/q2pro/.)

yeah i know this isn't a quake forum, just thought it was pretty cool and worth bumping because half-life is kinda like the child of quake.

just a quick little edit to the m4a1's hud icon to remove the m203 grenade launcher. i made it for myself after seeing this (http://www.half-lifecreations.com/forums/index.php?topic=2206.0) and really liking it, and i thought it would be worth sharing in case anyone else wants it. its a little rough around the edges (ms paint really isn't ideal) but its usable. also includes a version with an edit to the sights, replacing them with a scope (taken from sc's mp5 hud icon, also without an m203.) anyways, i hope you guys like it  :)

p.s.: the included script is intended for sc 5.0, i didn't test it with vanilla half-life and i don't know if the crosshair will match up due to them being different sprites and all.

now the only thing we need is a p_ and w_ model for it...

update: edited the glowing sprites to look a lot better than they were.
