Amazing retard comments from the developers!  This one in particular smacks of outright arrogance.

This project has come further than anyone else's and seems to have a bright future.

I'm quoting this storyline description before it gets deleted.  Apparently a helicopter posesses intelligence of its own, giving it the unique ability of collecting rocks which it can subsequently use to teleport itself!
Quote
Back in the timeline of Opposing Force, a VTOL was captured by the xenians for examination. That helicopter was kept in a xenian vault, and as the years passed, it overloaded itself with xenian rocks and material. Due to such a massive amount of xenian crystals, the helicopter ended up with enough energy to make a portal rift on its own, as it teleported to Earth, it caused a huge explosion of energy and consequently, a portal rift, that gave the xenians a ticket to Earth. Shephard gets awaken by the G-Man, and given the objective of closing the portal rift.

Read comments before you post. The City 14 setting has changed to a destroyed modern city, I might even delete our C14 screenshots.

I can't see how the mapping is linear, boring or bland, every screenshot shows a great atmousphere.

For your information, it's not a "city 17 knock off" mod. We have completely changed the gameplay, turning it into something fast paced, oldschool-ish. The weapon arsenal includes about 20 weapons (most of them are completely different from the HL2 weapons), not to mention that our enemies have changed a lot, too. And not to forget that we've added about 8 new NPCs?

I love how they say "it's not a city 17 knock off mod" even though it's set in City 14 (how original) and that "City 14 [is a] modern city".

Check out their "atmospheric" maps like this one: http://media.moddb.com/images/mods/1/11/10775/of2_crossfire0027_moddb.png

All the models are hackjobs? You're either trolls, haters or misinformed guys who go around posting "wise-guy" comments. You guys, sincerely, have no idea what you're talking about.
Despite them having clearly turbosmoothed an old OP4 model, and hacking CSS hands onto the HL2 defaults.

Burd!

Rofl, they don't have any modesty whatsoever. Also, those CSS hands weren't even hacked I bet. I believe the CSS animations use the valve biped rig, so a simple reference swap would've done the job to put the CSS arm models on the HL2 animations.

This is really fanboyism at it's worst. What I find even more rich is that most of the community is falling for all this blatantly unoriginal shit.

This mod is the Hydra of the New Age, in that no many how much you wound it, it keeps regenerating.

you know, I'll give it to them, for a crap mod, they have some not bad mapping. I mean, it's not GREAT mapping, and how well optimised it is I have some doubts on, but it's still not bad looking. For once.

Except it does look pretty good, all they need to do is fix some of the terrible texture alignment and try a little harder on the lighter.

Looks about average to me.  The brushwork is very simplistic, which combined with dodgy texturing doesn't look particularly impressive.

As you say James - it would look better with better texture work, but really I would only use such low poly buildings in a distant skybox.

I'm looking at it again now.  With second thought, it looks completely shit.  Totally unredeemable.  It looks like the sort of thing a 12 year old would make.  Normally I would be more encouraging with my words for new developers, but the haughtiness of the this team warrants harsh rebate.

their logo still sucks random mamal balls
Ergh, looks like they took the HL2 logo and applied a shit overlay to it.

Massive bump, just saw a weapon image the team posted up.  I can only describe it as a "Swiss Army Dildo".  I guess the dev team have something at the forefront of their minds.

I think the mod would greatly benefit from a quality control guy, instead of Menter just going "nah it's actually good" at every criticism people make. A lot of their models are really ugly.

Fuck sake, every comment I see on there gets that, and if you don't like it, loads of fanboys rape your karma to boot.

The whole mod is still a joke to me, I saw a playthrough of their demo and nearly died laughing... apart from the pretty cool mapping there wasn't much else to offer. Still think it's arrogant of them to call it "Opposing Force 2".

I like how they've suddenly become all hush hush about their new storyline.

Apparently in the mod you get to visit some Black Mesa related building called Little Mesa. Because a gigantic secret government facility would have a tiny sister facility with a similar name.
This has nothing to do with Opposing Force.
