ra_smb1_rc2

--This map is a release candidate. This map is probably going to be the final release unless there are any good suggestions or major problems!--



It's a Super Mario Bros themed map. You all knew it would happen.
Custom textures (should) have been packed into the bsp file, but let me know if I've missed one.

Now that's a sweet map.

How about some floating platforms and a 3D background? Also, add some green! :v:

Love the clouds. Can't say the same for the hills, unfortunately.



Also, bushes! Since they're just green clouds, it shoudln't be too hard to make then. :eng101:

Thanks for posting that screenshot! I've adjusted the hills to look more like the ones in the background. The bushes shouldn't be hard, just a quick job in photoshop.

Looking nice. I think the bushes should be against the brown ground edge, instead of at the edge of the sky.


Also, you can't jump up through here for some reason.

I've fixed that area where you couldn't jump past in rc2. The bushes are decals, so I'll see what I can do with them.

I'm trying to make them transparent, but every tutorial I follow doesn't work. There is still colour in the background. I even compared my vtf and vmt to those of a working transparent material, and they had no different settings. I don't know why I can't get transparency to work. When I look at the vtf in VTFEdit and set masks to on, it shows as transparent, but when I use it in hammer or a compiled map it has background colour.

Ignore that, I fixed it somehow. No idea what I did though.

Or not. The transparency works when I use it as a decal, but when I use it as a texture it just shows as fully white.
