[Afraid of Monsters] What song is this?
« on: December 29, 2011, 01:12:06 AM »
I've been searching around for quite awhile looking for this one song that Andreas used in AoM (Not Director's Cut) and I would like to know what it is because it sounds interesting.

At the Heart of It All by Richard James, also known as Aphex Twin (along with twelve quadrillion other aliases).

I believe he composed it for the album 16 Mixes for Cash.

Somehow the song made it onto a Nine Inch Nails CD (I believe it was Further Down the Spiral, but I'm not sure) even though NIN never actually had anything to do with it's creation. Dunno what the Hell was going on there, but I suppose Aphex gave it the all-clear.

I'm not hearing the resemblance, but he may have sped up the song or something.

What you're thinking of is the credits music for AoMDC Wes. The song Joe's asking for is the intro song from the original AoM. I asked ruMpel and he said he got it from a generic ambient/chill music compilation CD he had years and years ago, so he doesn't know what it is. If you have an iPhone though, you could try the Shazam app to see if it recognises it.

LOL oops. I was thinking of DC. I should probably have listened to the file in the first post before opening my mouth.

If you have moderately good speakers, and a good mic, (you do kid, you can go far sonny) then just get Tunatic and it will do what Shazam does.

Tunatic only seems to recognise the most well-known of songs that most people know anyway, wasn't too impressed with it it to be honest.

I tested it on the koyaansqatsi soundtrack and it did a good job, though I suppose Philip Glass is kinda the most popular composer in the world who's not mainly a film composer.
hott icon for the spoiler tags what's up with that

Ok another songs that I MUST know the name of. The name of the file is "dtthemindseye.wav". I looked it up and it lead to "Dark Tranquility - The Mind's Eye" but this song sounds nothing like this file, what's up with that?
