[HL1] Overturn in need of an animator!
« on: June 29, 2013, 02:40:07 AM »
We have a few weapon models that are in dire need of an animation set, and we're looking for some outside help. Is anyone free to do a few weapon animations?

Hi, functioning dyspraxic here. Working on professionalising my 3D animation work (and game art/visual design in general), on top of that I do a webcomic.
If you're unfamliliar, dyspraxia is about equal parts motor coordination and dysfunction and social dysfunction and anxiety and was up until the currrent DSM located on the Autism scale. As far as I'm aware Autism doesn't put any dampers on the individual to learn a skill, which is what animation is. In fact, the kind of things that identify Autism are actually GREAT for not only doing any creative 3D work as a whole, but aids in the learning process to get there. There's a lot of repetition, iteration and fine detail observation to the whole shebang.

So here's the short of it- You are not below trying to learn this stuff because of some percieved handicap. If no-one is willing to do it for you, learn to do it yourself. Get 3DS max, Milkshape, Blender.. Whatever you use, google for some tutorials.

Alex should be temporarily banned for posting so many pointless images lately.
N-no, no. He stays.

Also, no,sorry I won't animate for your mod either, too busy already/

EDIT: Thread scrub.

We need complete animation sets for about 3 or 4 weapons I can think of off the top of my head, and a few tweaks of current animation sets.

Wow, I totally forgot about this. Does anyone still have time to animate?
