Mod Appreciation Week 2016

Howdy mates.

You might have already heard of this ModDB event. Basically, it's a sort of promo for your favourite mod out there. Not only that - you can win some nice games too.

I'm rather surprised how difficult it actually is for me to decide which mod is my favourite. I've played so many - most of them being HLSP mods - and liked a lot of them.

I think one of my most favourite in general must be Half-Quake: Amen.
Can't really say what it is, but the mod's got some really strange atmosphere. The whole thing is designed in shades of grey with many parts being simply black and white. There are a few exceptions - you can also find green, for example. That itself sets the right mood, but the modders included their own music too.
The music makes you feel alone and, at times, even sad. Its style is simple, but fits the atmosphere perfectly. I must admit the music is probably the main reason I enjoyed the mod so much. When it comes to gameplay, there is a little bit of action combined with puzzles. The mod is split into several chapters and one of them requires a lot of patience (not the frustrating kind though).
I don't really want to spoil the story here as it doesn't sound really interesting and it's simply better for you to find out yourself.

So yeah, hope you'll give it a try (unless you already have) and post your opinions too.

Thank you for your attention.
