[GLDSRC] The Specialists HD M4 and M16

Another relic, found on my HDD ... and yes I know Thomas has uploaded the entire pack, but this is the original pre-compile so everything is all nice and un-buggered.

Basically back in 2014 I was asked (along with some other peeps in the CS/TS community) to contribute to a TS HD pack. While I dont have the entire pack, though I could probably source it, I do that the pre-compile SOURCE materials I used to hack together a HD M4 and M16.

The model/hack took from several authors, and in many cases involved either re-uvmapping pieces to transfer the texture down from a Source Engine sized material (1024^2 or greater) to GLDSRC (512^2).

They were a bit overkill but that was the point. It needed to look crisp but still fit the GLDSRC wai of lyfe.

In the archive is an MS3D file, an SMD and a .Max file (version, probably 2010 or 2012?) and a metric ass load of BMP files. Be aware, any 8-bit BMPs loaded into Max will look funky, but they're fine. Trust me.

Enjoy!

That's some pro stuff, whatever you have lying around we will find a home for, I was thinking last night about how much has been lost already to the internet. Turns out that even if it goes on the internet it isn't "out there forever". I've recently started to reach out to communities from the past to see what, if anything might remain...
