Hello Diamond D could you convert the animations for this grunt model with your grunt model so it has a ragdoll like death? Thanks and best of luck.  ;)

Also if you are wondering what I'm talking about just try out the grunt model and kill a grunt and you'll see what I mean.

PS. if you need any models from hit I can give you them ;)

To be honest man, just send me a PM. I'm not the only one here who can do this stuff.

Do you happen to have a Steam?

I can, but I won't. I'd much rather have you do it yourself.

Added.

You could do it with Jeds.

http://www.half-lifecreations.com/toolsdir/mdlcompdec.rar < Download this.

Now, open Jeds, and do the following:

1. Go to Tools > "Configure Tools...".

2. It will ask you for two exe files, which are both provided in the above URL. Place those 2 exes anywhere in your computer, just make sure you never move them. Apply the appropriate paths, and hit OK.

3. You are now capable of decompiling and compiling via Jeds. Now, you want to use Gman's ragdoll-like animations for AI's normal Hgrunt, correct? Well, this is quite simple. Make a folder on your desktop named "Hgrunt" and place your Hgrunt model in there.

4. With Jeds, go to Tools > "Decompile Model...". Go to your desktop and locate the model, and double click. In case you were wondering, decompiling basically unpacks all of your models' files into the folder that it was placed in. You will see many .BMP (image files), .ref files (animations and model reference files), and a .QC file (which coordinates how a models' files will be compiled.

5. Now, you'll see alot of files, but don't worry: what you are going to do is rather simple. Gman was kind enough to give a installation readme in his release, so this will make things alot better.

Code: [Select]
4. What I need to do to make this work ?

You need compile model with them :
   for example barney :

1.Decompile barney.mdl model ( need to be SD version [ HD should work too ] but no LD )
2.Replace animation files with my files
3.In barney.qc file change die animation code
FOR EXAMPLE :
CHANGE :
$sequence "diesimple" "diesimple" X fps 25 ACT_DIE_HEADSHOT 1
$sequence "dieviolent" "dieviolent" X fps 25 ACT_DIE_HEADSHOT 1
$sequence "diegutshot" "diegutshot" fps 25 ACT_DIE_GUTSHOT 1
$sequence "dieforward" "dieforward" X fps 25 ACT_DIEFORWARD 1
$sequence "diebackward" "diebackward" X fps 25 ACT_DIEBACKWARD 1
$sequence "diecrump" "diecrump" X fps 25 ACT_DIESIMPLE 2

WITH :
$sequence "diesimple" "diesimple" X fps 25 ACT_DIE_HEADSHOT 1
$sequence "diesimple1" "diesimple1" X fps 25 ACT_DIE_HEADSHOT 1
$sequence "diesimple2" "diesimple2" X fps 25 ACT_DIE_HEADSHOT 1
$sequence "diesimple3" "diesimple3" X fps 25 ACT_DIE_HEADSHOT 1
$sequence "diesimple4" "diesimple4" X fps 25 ACT_DIE_HEADSHOT 1
$sequence "dieviolent" "dieviolent" X fps 25 ACT_DIE_HEADSHOT 1
$sequence "dieviolent1" "dieviolent1" X fps 25 ACT_DIE_HEADSHOT 1
$sequence "dieviolent2" "dieviolent2" X fps 25 ACT_DIE_HEADSHOT 1
$sequence "dieviolent3" "dieviolent3" X fps 25 ACT_DIE_HEADSHOT 1
$sequence "diegutshot" "diegutshot" fps 25 ACT_DIE_GUTSHOT 1
$sequence "diegutshot1" "diegutshot1" fps 25 ACT_DIE_GUTSHOT 1
$sequence "diegutshot2" "diegutshot2" fps 25 ACT_DIE_GUTSHOT 1
$sequence "diegutshot3" "diegutshot3" fps 25 ACT_DIE_GUTSHOT 1
$sequence "dieforward" "dieforward" X fps 25 ACT_DIEFORWARD 1
$sequence "dieforward1" "dieforward1" X fps 25 ACT_DIEFORWARD 1
$sequence "dieforward2" "dieforward2" X fps 25 ACT_DIEFORWARD 1
$sequence "dieforward3" "dieforward3" X fps 25 ACT_DIEFORWARD 1
$sequence "dieforward4" "dieforward4" X fps 25 ACT_DIEFORWARD 1
$sequence "dieforward5" "dieforward5" X fps 25 ACT_DIEFORWARD 1
$sequence "diebackward" "diebackward" X fps 25 ACT_DIEBACKWARD 1
$sequence "diebackward1" "diebackward1" X fps 25 ACT_DIEBACKWARD 1
$sequence "diebackward2" "diebackward2" X fps 25 ACT_DIEBACKWARD 1
$sequence "diebackward3" "diebackward3" X fps 25 ACT_DIEBACKWARD 1
$sequence "diebackward4" "diebackward4" X fps 25 ACT_DIEBACKWARD 1
$sequence "diebackward5" "diebackward5" X fps 25 ACT_DIEBACKWARD 1
$sequence "diebackward6" "diebackward6" X fps 25 ACT_DIEBACKWARD 1
$sequence "diecrump" "diecrump" X fps 25 ACT_DIESIMPLE 2
$sequence "diecrump1" "diecrump1" X fps 25 ACT_DIESIMPLE 2
$sequence "diecrump2" "diecrump2" X fps 25 ACT_DIESIMPLE 2
$sequence "diecrump3" "diecrump3" X fps 25 ACT_DIESIMPLE 2

In your .QC file (which can be opened by Notepad, by the way), you can locate lines of text that display sequences, also known as animations, of a model. As you can see above, there are 6 death animations in the Hgrunts, and MANY death animations in Gman's pack. If you wanted to do this easily, simply take the "diesimple," "dieviolent," "diegutshot," "dieforward," "diebackward," and "diecrump" from Gman's pack, and place them in your Hgrunt's folder. Replace all files.

6. Now, the finishing move. Go to Jeds, go to Tools > "Compile Model...". Locate the hgrunt.QC file in your Hgrunt folder, double click, and viola! You are done.

Place your model in Half-Life and enjoy.

E/ This tut sucks. If you are having trouble just talk to me on Steam and I'll guide you through things.
