Black super defintion barney

Hello every one with various textures found on diffrent half-life mods and skins I have made a black barney skin. Tell me what you think about it.

Isnt it Liquidators black barney from that old mod Cleaners Adventures?I think it is.The shirt colour, vest.Too bad i cant report for "Credits theft" :P

No, it's not from Cleaner's Adventures. However, there is the very, very, very obvious problem of there being a big black line on his face and his eyes being crossed due to texture misalignment. It amazes me that people don't notice this.

Coldroll, when you decompiled the model, the texture UVs actually move one pixel to the left, and when you compile, they move another pixel. This means that the UVs move two pixels to the left, thus making alot of the textures on the model have black lines, and can make the eyes crosseyed. In order to fix this:

1. Import your model, and Select All. (CTRL+A) This selects the entire model, bones + faces alike.


2. Then, go to the Texture Coordinator. (CTRL+T) This opens a window for the model, displaying the textures and UV maps of the model.


3. After that, go through every single texture, and accurately move the maps to place, and then move one pixel to the right.


4. After this, export over your older SMD references, and compile. This way, you shouldn't have the problems James described.

In all extensive purposes, I think the textures are okay for a MD-SD environment. Good work, however the model itself could be alot better if you fixed the texture misalignment.

Roger that! also I tried making all the barney files sound like black people. But when I, import the sounds barneys mouth does not move.

also I took the vest from the half-life zombie mod. also what program is that?

That's what Toadie told me a while back. Sounds need to be in that format in order to work proper in Half-Life.

The program is called MilkShape, and it's a extremely useful program for these sorts of things. You could try kHed, though you're on your own on that since I've never personally used it.

In MilkShape, decompile the model by going to Tools > Kratiso's Decompiler. Find your model and it will dump the source files where the model is located.

Also what do I move and how many points do I move? here?

Eyes misalignment
Face misalignment
Leg strap being misaligned
New sleeves that match his shirt (blue with a filter, similar to the one on his shirt)

I see cold wanted to give barney a black-voice.

I'll try and make a black soundpack (just lowering some pitch)

I'm also trying to have it so barney has 2 skingroups (white and black)

Not trying to take over your thread, it's just I see you want to fix/do stuff and I feel like I should help  :)

you would like to see it.. ok...

I did them for my pack... (player pack) However.. there will be a npc release too.

On those pics you see my new civilian barney (the body; 8 textures) and the black cap barney (2 head textures 512x512 + new cap texture)

the helmet barney is just a matter of few clicks.

Hey sorry if i'm bumping this or anything. But maybe some on could hack the black scientist face, from diamond D's pack on the barney model. I would do it myself but milkshape does not wok on my PC.
