This should teach you how to use the excellent carve tool to create fantastic and highly detailed landscapes in the Source engine, an engine that otherwise doesn't handle terrain very well.

But why would you use Carve D:  Just use regular displacements instead of making leaky geometry.

Isn't it hilarious he says that Hammer editor requires a lot of computer power because it's prone on crashing, while he makes all his terrain by carving spheres in stuff?
